1-1/4" Headset Bearing Cover- Black

1-1/4" bearing cover!!!

It's a headset bearing cover... it replaces the tall one on your bike and helps you slam. Made for 1.25" diameter steerers. Replaces the Giant Overdrive 2 or OD2 headset cover or the wacky one on canyon bikes*. Saves yourself some grams, helps you get lower and dial in that fit.

Tech stuff:

• 1-1/4" steerer size. Not 1-1/8" (those are the other ones on this site)
• .09" tall "stack height" (or 2.3 mm)
• 1.91" outer diameter of cover (or 48.5mm)
• You may need microspacers for this to dial in your fit. we do not supply those even though we have in the past. sadly we cant afford to keep ordering those. so you are on your own there. Cost has been adjusted accordingly.

*if you have a canyon and you want to replace the compression spacer weird thing you need a traditional top cap and expansion plug so you can compress the headset normally. If you don't understand. It's cool. Go to your bike shop and talk to them about it.  

Installation/Disclaimer

If you do not fully understand how the cover works, please get in touch with your local bike shop to help with installation to avoid damages to your bike or headset assembly. If you have never adjusted or worked with integrated headsets before, please seek help to make sure this is done properly.

To be sure that the SLAM THAT STEM Headset Dust Cover is working properly, you should be able to pass a piece of paper between the gap of your Dust Cover and your headtube. If you cannot do this and they are making contact, you need a micro shim or two. If you tighten the headset down without the proper micro spacers, the Dust Cover and the bike can get damaged. SLAM THAT STEM is not responsible for damages incurred to the bicycle, dust cover or user as result of improper installation. Remember, if something on your bike feels wrong, it is wrong, and you should stop riding it and bring it into a shop to be looked at! If your back hurts as a result of slammage, just do more core work and HTFU.
